Special Issue EJM

The European Journal of Mineralogy, in its renewed form (i.e. online only Copernicus journal, open access at very competitive costs) aims to launch a new series of Special Issues entitled "Probing the Earth: experimental and theoretical advances".

The first Special Issue will be devoted to the Earth’s mantle and subtitled: "Experiments and mineral physics at mantle depths”. It will cover the following topics, among others:

  • mineral phase stability and phase relations at upper and lower mantle conditions;
  • melting from the uppermost mantle to the core-mantle boundary;
  • mechanism of magma production and transport;
  • fluid/rock and melt/rock reactions at mantle conditions;
  • volatiles in the mantle, deep Earth volatile cycles;
  • physical properties of mantle materials.

The Editors for this special issue are Elisabetta Rampone (Chief Editor), Patrizia Fumagalli, Stephan Klemme, Monika Koch-Müller, Didier Laporte, Max Wilke.

Save the date! Submissions are open from 1 February 2020 to 30 June 2021.
